Nicholas Barker, Ph.D.
President & CEO
Dr. Barker is a licensed UK Pharmacist and holds a Ph.D. in drug targeting and delivery. He has over 20 years of pharmaceutical product development experience and brings with him a proven record of success in international business and management as a senior executive in a number of large pharmaceutical firms and small biotechnology companies. Dr. Barker has significant experience in preclinical and clinical drug development, manufacture and industrialization and product registration and launch. During his industry career he has contributed to a number of successful product introductions including Nasacort Aq, Synercid, Taxotere, Plenaxis, Menorest and Dilacor XR.

Daniel K. Podolsky, MD
Co-Chairman of the Board & Scientific Co-Founder
Dr. Podolsky is Mallinkrodt Professor of Medicine and Chief of Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He is a world-renowned researcher who has advanced knowledge of underlying mechanisms of disease and new therapies for gastrointestinal disorders. He is also an international authority on trefoil proteins. Dr. Podolsky has published and patented widely in his field and has trained many of the physicians and scientists who are leaders in medicine today. He is past editor-in-chief of Gastroenterology, the leading journal in the field, and is former President of the American Gastroenterological Association.

Chung Owyang, MD
Co-Chairman of the Board & Scientific Co-Founder
Dr. Owyang is H. Marvin Pollard Professor in Gastroenterology and Chief of the Department of Gastrointestinal Disease at the University of Michigan where he is also the director of an NIH-funded digestive disease center. He has served on the FDA Advisory Panel for the review of gastrointestinal drugs and is internationally recognized for his research in gastrointestinal peptides, including their function in motility and pancreatic disorders. He has made many significant contributions to the field of gastroenterology through his studies translating insights gained in laboratory research into humans. He is former President of the American Motility Society.

Ho Auyang
Director
Mr. Auyang is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Computime Ltd., Hong Kong, a leading worldwide provider of Electronic Design and Manufacturing services. He is an outstanding strategic investor and possesses a wealth of international business expertise including creative financing and long-range planning.

King Owyang, Ph.D.
Director
Dr. Owyang is currently President & CEO of Vishay Siliconix (NASDAQ: SILI), one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semi-conductors and passive components. He holds a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Physics from MIT and was voted 2002 California Businessman of the Year. Dr. Owyang brings to The GI Company an excellent background in business innovation, strategic international management and financial expertise.
